The latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer from Marvel Studios was released right after The Flash’s less-than-subtle Super Bowl trailer.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer from Marvel Studios was unveiled shortly after DC Studios’ The Flash Super Bowl trailer.

The pop culture fans was surely in for a few surprises during Super Bowl LVII. With brand-new scenes that finally feature Michael Keaton’s Batman, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, and a returning Michael Shannon as Zod, The Flash teaser got things going in high gear.

Marvel Studios, wanting to be outdone, has released a new GotG Vol. 3 trailer featuring brand-new, previously unreleased scenes from the trilogy’s concluding film, which is being directed by James Gunn.

A TV ad for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 debuted during the Super Bowl game. The Flash trailer was also posted by the director, who is essentially making his final contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the same way that DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn did with The Flash.

It’s interesting that Gunn also revealed that Henry Banham served as the movies’ director of photography.

More of Rocket Raccoon’s backstory is revealed for fans of the motley crew of interplanetary heroes. Viewers see how the humanoid tech guru, affectionately known by his admirers as “Baby Rocket,” came to have sentience through the schemes of the High Evolutionary.

The villain, Chukwudi Iwuji, is finally revealed in all of his High Evolutionary trappings, and we get to hear a few of his best phrases. On the surface, it appears that the High Evolutionary wants to establish an ideal society, but Rocket (Bradley Cooper) contests that assertion. In addition to getting a better look at the chunkier Groot (Vin Diesel), who is considerably larger than his predecessor from the 2014 GotG film, we also get a clearer look at Rocket as he relates his own past experiences.

Clarity regarding Adam Warlock’s (Will Poulter) place in the story is maybe the one essential component that the new teaser lacks. With the exception of a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fight with Drax (Dave Bautista) and chunky Groot landing on him, there were no new scenes or narrative elements displayed with the cosmically powered agent of the Sovereigns (last seen in GotG Vol. 2).

Gamora’s (Zoe Saldaa) interactions with the other Guardians make up another group of scenes that are really intriguing. Her part in the film appeared to be hidden in earlier teasers and trailers, but the most recent one shows she is still separated from the group because she isn’t the original. Keep in mind that, with the exception of Nebula, the only Gamora that survived Avengers: Endgame was the previous iteration, who had no prior interaction with the Guardians (Karen Gillan).

Even if the Gamora who is still alive has no ties to Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) or the rest of the gang, it appears that he is still grieving for his lost love. Gamora also makes a hilarious barb, claiming that Nebula is more like to the version Peter Quill depicts. As a result, Quill starts to perceive Nebula differently, to which Nebula responds, “Cut it out!” Will this prospective relationship be discussed in the movie?

At the conclusion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, when the MCU enters Phase 5, which characters will still be alive?

That is most definitely a possibility, but the remainder of the trailer has a depressing atmosphere. This suggests that this is the final installment of the movie series, as director James Gunn had previously said. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will probably be the team’s final appearance because of the co-commitment CEO’s to DC Studios as well as his role as creative director (which includes developing scripts and maybe directing movies on the DC Universe slate). As stated in the film’s official description:

The third GotG film seems to be going in a more dramatic direction after the upbeat tone and resolution of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+.

The release date of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by Marvel Studios is May 3, 2023, at breakneck pace.
