The John Wick spin-off film featuring Academy Award contender Ana de Armas began filming in November. Fans of the John Wick universe have been wondering when film would be released in theatres.
In interview with Deadline, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake disclosed the release date for John Wick spin-off. According to Drake, this film will be released in 2024, somewhere during the spring or summer.
The Lionsgate executive revealed that this firm is not ready to say goodbye to John Wick. Drake hinted that they aren’t “ready to say goodbye” to Reeve’s character.
“With this franchise, we’re not ready to say goodbye to Keanu” Drake stated. “What will be the alternative?”
John Wick’s role in Ballerina
Keanu Reeves who plays the part of Ballerina in John Wick, recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about this movie. The master assassin will have “small part to play” in planned spin off, according to the actor.
Reeves mentioned that he had the opportunity to collaborate with Ana de Armas and director Len Wiseman on a project with well-crafted script. In this project, John Wick’s role is limited.
In addition, the Ballerina timetable was disclosed by the John Wick actor. Reeves claims that Chapters 3 and 4 are where the action of the film occurs.

The final appearance of Lance Reddick, a stalwart of the John Wick franchise will be in Ballerina. Last week, the actor who was 60, passed suddenly. Before he passed away, Reddick finished filming the movie.
Ballerina finished filming in February of last year and is currently in post-production. The film will make its debut sometime in the spring or summer of 2024.
